Copper Press Publishers is pleased to announce that Kevin E. Cropp is a
finalist for the Benjamin Franklin Award for Best New Voice of 2006.
According to Terry Nathans, Director of the Independent Book Publishers
Association (PMA) who is the creator of this event, the Benjamin Franklin
Awards, which is named in honor of America's most cherished
publisher/printer, recognizes excellence in independent publishing. This
year there were over 1600 entries in fifty-four categories. Publications,
grouped by genre are judged on editorial and design merit by top
practitioners in each field including editors, publishers, bookstore
buyers, designers, and librarians. The trophies are awarded to the best
books in several categories and are presented to the publishers during a
gala awards ceremony on the last evening of the Publishing University
(just before the opening of Book Expo America).
Hadley Goodman, President of Copper Press Publishers says, I am thrilled
with Kevin's well deserved accomplishments, and I am glad he is receiving
such great recognition for all of his hard work. As the publisher, it is
an honor to be acknowledged by the PMA.
It is nice to know that others are finding value in a story that means
so much to me, says Cropp of his nomination as a finalist for such a
great award for his debut novel "The Time Keeper"..
The winner will be chosen from one of the three finalists and will
receive the award during a ceremony on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2006 at
the Washington, DC Convention Center.
