Laugh for the Cure® and Copper Press Publishers Join Forces

Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina - February 22, 2006/ Copper Press Publishers has joined forces with Laugh for the Cure® in Charlotte, NC to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. From now until the Laugh for the Cure® Event in August 2006, fifty percent of the sales of Kevin E. Cropp's “The Time Keeper” generated from this event will be donated to Laugh for the Cure® (LFTC), a charity and comedy event benefiting The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

“The Time Keeper” is a novel based on Cropp's personal experience. It takes place in Fayetteville, NC and is about Linda Wails, a thirty-eight year old mother and her seventeen year old son, Corey, who do not get along. When Linda finds out her cancer has come back she knows it is now or never to make amends. “My mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32. I have experienced first hand how this disease can affect people and it is a cause that has become very important to me,” says Cropp. “I only hope that my lessons can now help others, and am excited that we will be donating to such a worthy cause.”

Laugh for the Cure® is a grass-roots effort that has quickly developed into one of Charlotte's most anticipated and unique fundraising events. Founded in 2002, LFTC has raised over $77,000 for the Charlotte Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and $22,000 for the Komen Eastern Washington Affiliate. Tammy Greyshock, Founder and Director of the event said, “We are excited to partner with Copper Press Publishers and Kevin Cropp. Laugh for the Cure® is a volunteer driven effort and we believe that through new partnerships like this, we can further our mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. As a community, we can always do more together than we can apart. LFTC will bring our guests an evening of laughter and Kevin will bring our guests a real-life story that will touch their hearts.”

The novel will be on sale at as well as at the Laugh for the Cure® event held at The Comedy Zone in Charlotte, North Carolina in mid-August 2006. Kevin Cropp will be on hand to autograph books and meet the guests. The date of the event will be posted on our website in the coming weeks.
